A person does not completely fulfill his obligation [to study Torah] by involving himself with Tanach, Mishnah, Aggada, and the Babylonian Talmud. Rather, one is obligated to involve himself to the best of his ability in the secrets of the Torah and the Work of the Chariot, for there is no greater pleasure for G-d in all the creation than when His children below involve themselves in the secrets of Torah - to know His greatness, His beauty, and His supremacy. - The Arizal The redemption will be brought about in the merit of those who study and involve themselves in the teachings of Kabbalah. - Rabbi Chaim Vital Whoever is in this world and does not toil to know the Holy One Blessed be He, it is better had he not been created. - The Zohar One only loves the Holy One blessed be He through the knowledge of Him. This love is commensurate to the knowledge. If the knowledge is little, the love will be little; and if the knowledge is great, the love will be great. Thus, it is imperative for a person to dedicate himself to understand and contemplate the wisdom and knowledge that inform him of his Creator. - Maimonides It is imperative that every Jew know that he is an emissary of the Master of all, charged with the mission - wherever he may be of bringing into reality G-d's will and intention in creating the universe, namely, to illuminate the world with the light of Torah and avoda.
